Our goals

  2. Promote a diverse and inclusive community on campus

What we have done

  • Established Gender Equity Taskforce, led by the Vice Provost, to review policies and practices for faculty.
  • Established a Resilience Communities Committee, co-charied by the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, the Vice President of Human Resources, and the Director of the Office of Dean of Students, to guide policy implementation.
  • Launched an online module on 'Supporting Students' Mental Wellbeing'.
  • Developed the Student Care Officer programme and trained Student Care Officers.
  • Enhanced leave and benefits - equalised length of annual leave regardless of job level; equalised childcare leave days regardless of nationality; doubled length of paternity leave for all; extended shared parental leave to male employees with non-Singaporean child; tripled length of child adoption leave for all.
  • Developed and published an inclusive language guide.
  • Training hiring managers and people managers on how to manage a respectful workplace and incorporated wellbeing and DEI topics into the new leadership programme.
  • Piloted a CSR programme with 2 local non-profit organisations focused addressing food insecurity.
