What we have done
Developed a Sustainability Education @ SMU framework and incorporated the understanding of sustainability into SMU's Graduate Learning Outcomes.
Developed a sustainability graduation requirement for undergraduates that is aligned to the Sustainability Education @ SMU framework.
Launched a “Sustainability and Sustainable Development” module as part of the mandatory Community Service Units to enable all UG students to acquire foundational knowledge.
Incorporated 39 contact hours of sustainability focused teaching and learning within the disciplinary core curriculum in 4 schools - College of Integrative Studies, School of Accountancy, Lee Kong Chian School of Business, and School of Economics.
Launched 2 sustainability focused second majors - Sustainable Management, offered by the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, and Sustainable Societies, offered by the School of Social Sciences.
Launched the Master of Sustainability.
Developed sustainability focused workshops for PhD students.
Launched the SMU Pathfinders Overseas Sustainability Changemaker Programme.
Organised the SMU Sustainability Forum and Sustainability Firechat series with student leaders.
Established the SMC Student Sustainability Awards.
